Discussion for: Why is called white chocolate?

What are your thoughts, experiences, or questions about Why is called white chocolate?? Whether you have a lot to say or just want to listen to others talk about their perspectives, you’re welcome to join the conversation.

  1. White chocolate is called so because of its light color. You see, chocolate comes from cocoa beans. Usually, chocolate has both cocoa solids and cocoa butter, which gives it a brown color. However, in white chocolate, they remove the cocoa solids and use only cocoa butter along with sugar and milk solids. Since it doesn’t contain cocoa solids, it doesn’t have the typical brown color of regular chocolate. Instead, it appears creamy and pale, resembling the color white. So, they simply named it “white chocolate” because of its light, white-like appearance. I hope that explanation helps you understand!
