9. The Archon War and the Cataclysm are both completely separate events. The Archon War is a war that is assumed to have lasted for thousands of years around 2600 years ago. The Archon War is basically like World War 1 and World War 2, a compilation of events or battles from all across the world. Some battles in other nations like Liyue and Inazuma lasted for years, while places like Mondstadt happened in a short time. For example: In Inazuma, the Raiden sisters, Ei and Makoto, together led an army to fight for domination, until they became the victors and was gifted the title of the Electro Archon by Celestia. While in Mondstadt, there were only two gods, Decarabian and Andrius. The victor is neither–the people are the victors–Decarabian was slained while Andrius stepped down, giving the title of the Anemo Archon to the last being with the power level of a god, Barbatos.

   While the Cataclysm happened 500 years ago. I believe it is also the same as the Archon War, a compilation of events. During the Cataclysm, there were many events that happened simultaneously. These events are: The battle between Durin against Dvalin and Barbatos, the Abyss invasion of Teyvat, the fall of Khaenri'ah, and the outbreak of the Forbidden Knowledge. Though the most notable is the Abyss invasion that led to the fall of Khaenri'ah by the gods and the abyss monsters. The exact event that happened is vague. The only thing we know is that the gods came to Khaenri'ah, and in the end, Khaenri'ah was destroyed and most of the abyss were killed. Whether the gods were intentionally destroying Khaenri'ah, or was just trying to stop the invasion, is unknown. Not all of the archons actually participated. An example is the Dendro Archon, Rukkhadevata. Barbatos may or may not have participated. There is no evidence that said he was there, nor is there also evidence implying he wasn't there. Though I personally think Barbatos was also injured, so he went back to sleep for 500 years.
